February 2008 News

Classes for Session 3 will end February 23rd. Embroidered Emblems for all levels passed are available at $1.00 each. See Tricia or Alice. These are a great reward to sew onto your skating bag or sweatshirt. Also check with Tricia or Alice if you would like a USFS Progress booklet. In these books you have a gold sticker to place onto each skill as you pass that skill in each level.

The Magic of March!

  1. Camp Chill: March 25 and 26 from 9:00 AM to noon. ENROLL NOW. SKATING – CRAFT – FUN FOR ALL! Download registration form
  2. Capitol Skating School Exhibition, “Skate With Disney” is scheduled for Saturday April 19th from 2:00-4:00 PM.

    March Rehearsals! Group numbers will be: Snowplow Sam through Freestyle. All Capitol Skating School skaters will want to participate in “Skating With Disney!!!”. FUN!!! FUN!!! FUN!!! Call Tricia or Alice for Registration form 833-3922 or 833-5451.

  3. Enroll now for Session 4: Spring skating is a BLAST!! Polish up those skills at Camp Chill followed by a great Spring Session 4. The snow is going and it’s not yet warm enough for swimming. April heralds in rain, rain, rain. So skate through it while waiting for that all important summer to arrive!!! Download registration form

Competition Updates — Basic Skills and Invitationals

WOW is all we can say for the skaters who represented Capitol Skating School and Capitol Figure Skating Club at recent competitions. At the Fox Cities Competition in Appleton, you all skated your best. We were so proud of you! Many trophies were taken home because of that fine showing. All skaters brought home medals/trophies! Below is a list of the skaters who competed and the event in which they competed.

Mackensie Bakken – Basic 7
Maria Marsland – Beginner
Hannah Anderson, Allison Ballweg, Marisa Heinzel, Cecilia Lone, Maureen Sheehan, Julia Tibbetts – Pre-Preliminary Restricted
Gabrielle Ballweg, Claire Buchholz, Cassidy Trier, Hailey Trier – Pre-Preliminary
Elizabeth Bakken and Jennifer Marsland – Intermediate

Aurora Eggers competed at Badger State Games at the Beginner Level and brought home initial and final round medals.
